I remember when Harper was a newborn everyone told me to soak up all the cuddling and holding I could get because before long she would be all grown up. Well Jeff and I both didn't hold back and I have no regrets with how much we have loved on her. She has grown into a very independent, happy little jabber box that is always on the go.

-She takes shots like a champ... as a baby I would just immediately breastfeed or bottle feed after she would get them and she would stop crying. I was a little nervous with her year check up since we only do bottles certain times of the day but once she got them I cuddled her for a bit and by the time we checked out she was walking around playing in the toy room. We then went to see Jeff and work and she walked forever. Then I made sure I massaged her legs that night in a hot bath so she didn't get sore... and that was that, never another moan or groan from her shots.
-She started walking at 11 months and it took her 4 days of instability and then she was off. (She had been walking around furniture starting at 9 1/2 months, so I thought she would've started walking earlier)
-At a year she has 8 teeth, all 4 front top and bottoms. She is a perfect teether... literally. I never know when she is teething (minus a runny nose) She is never fussy or sick. I usually find a new tooth when she smiles or if I can feel it.
-She is an incredible eater. She LOVES food and is not picky. I love this about her, I don't know what I would do with a picky eater. She definately has her favorites but I try to make sure she gets plenty of veggies and fruit. She is definately our child though cuz she LOVES her carbs :) We just switched her from formula to whole milk so she gets 3-4 bottles a day.
-She is a great sleeper... I mean a perfect sleeper. She goes down between 8-9 pm (depending when her last nap was) and sleeps roughly 12-14 hours straight. She also takes two 2 hour naps. And when it comes to laying her down it's just a matter of giving her the binkie, her blanket and turning on her bedroom fan. She is such a goer that when she is tired she never puts up a fuss. Sometimes she may play in her crib with her mobile or stuffed animals for a little bit but for the most part she passes right out.
-She is a book lover. Almost daily she can be found in her room sitting quietly on the floor with all her books out, just flipping through the pages. Occasionally she will bring some out to us to read to her, which we love.
-She plays in her room constantly. We have all her toys and books in her room so she knows right where they are. Jeff and I often spy on her and watch her play and it's just the cutest thing to hear her jabbering away and playing so independently.
-She loves her doggies and every morning when we get her out of the crib she starts looking for them. And they love her (mostly Chewy). I'm so glad we have pets to interact with her.
-She has never been sick (minus occasional runny nose and cough) and has never required a dr visit (besides her well child check-ups) At 11 months she got hand, foot and mouth disease and I'll tell you I panicked because I've heard how awful it can be. But I was determined to beat it so with constant sterilizing, boiling toys and binkies (I rotated 4 binkies all day, boiling them after she used them for a few hours) She never cried with it or acted like it bothered her.
So does it sound like I have a perfect child... yes it does and I promise I'm not sugar coating it. Jeff and I have talked numerous times how blessed we are to have such an easy going, always happy baby (not knowing before hand why the Lord blessed us with such a patient, easy baby... future post to come)
