The month of May was INCREDIBLE. The weather was hot (so was our apartment, it is awful not having AC) and Harper just loved playing outdoors. Ever since coming back from Utah and Oklahoma I can't keep this girl indoors. Which for most moms it wouldn't be a problem, but with my ever growing belly and swelling to lower extremities it's hard to chase a toddler around. So we tried to get out at least every other day. We spent some time at the parks, playing, chasing ducks, walking the dogs. We went swimming with friends at goose lake (which Harper thought was a huge hit) and we even play with rocks/gravel in out awesome parking lot. (Harper could play with rocks for hours!!!) Grandma Burton even came back up to visit/help out while I continued to work a few more shifts. Overall the month of May was fantastic.
Random pics of our days together shopping, exploring Cabellas, Petsmart and chilling at the laundromat.
Harper can fall asleep anywhere... and when she wakes up she is ALWAYS happy no matter how long she slept. The second pic was literally taken minutes after she woke up. Love my happy girl.
Then came June... and lots of rain and cooler weather. No more swimming days, very few park trips. BUT daddy came home!!! Oh my goodness how we missed him. His plane was delayed a good 45 min or so, so we played at the airport running around, riding up and down the escalators and once she say Jeff she threw herself on the ground because escalators are cooler than your dad you haven't seen in weeks!!! But once we got to the car and at home she realized Daddy was staying with us. We only had him to ourselves for the weekend before he started work the following Monday. I was so nervous Harper was going to prefer me over him but nope, she acted like he had never left and as time went on she became quite the daddy's girl... giggling, laughing and following him all over the house once he came home from work.
Lately this girl loves hats... problem is she thinks anything can be a hat!
And here we are mid July. The weather is starting to warm up again, occasional rainy days but nothing hot or nice like last summer or the month of May this year. We were super spoiled last summer was 80-90 degree days all summer. We went on our last camping trip over 4th of July weekend to Seward. We went last year to enjoy the small town holiday festivities and Mt. Marathon race and we wanted to make a tradition of it (we are all about traditions you know). Once again it was a great relaxing weekend, despite the 70 degree weather and lots of walking (it sure took a toll on my body) but I can't complain... I've been wanting nice hot weather for awhile, just sad it happened when I was 32 weeks prego with twins. We had some new friends camping with us in their tents (John Lewis and his cute family. Jeff went to school and lived with John in OKC) it was fun to make new friends and have Harper have some kids to play with. We were there 3 nights, and on our final night Ryan and Kari Nolan were kinda in the area hiking for the day so they met us at camp and we enjoyed dinner together with them before they headed back to Anchorage. We love going camping as a family but it's also nice when friends met up with us.
Harper lately walks with her eyes closed.... and usually opens them when she runs into something. She does this constantly at home and is sometimes in mid run. what a goof ball.
Then we enjoyed the afternoon at the Sealife Center. Harper loved watching the sea lions and just being able to run around at her own speed with no one telling her where to go or what to do.
Harper and I (and my 32 week belly) watching a sea lion play outside. I love when Jeff grabs the camera now and then and captures me enjoying moments with Harper.
